What Escape Beacon is

Escape Beacon is an intermediary — it connects players with escape room operators. The game itself is provided by the operator listed with each room, and the contract for the service is concluded between the player and that operator.

Supervisory authority and dispute resolution

Compliance with consumer protection rules is supervised by the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce, Štěpánská 44, 110 00 Praha 1), which is also the body for out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes — coi.cz.

Consumers from other EU countries keep the rights granted by the consumer protection rules of their country of residence; they may turn to the competent authority in their own country or to the European Consumer Centre, which helps precisely with cross-border cases like this one.

The European Commission's online dispute resolution (ODR) platform was shut down on 20 July 2025 by Regulation (EU) 2024/3228 and no longer operates; the obligation to link to it has ended. Disputes are therefore handled directly through the authorities named above.
